I saw this dog in the classified  and her photo shows her ribs. She is beautiful except for the fact her ribs are obvious.

yes

Yes. You should only see a hint of the last couple of ribs in the stand pose. You can count this dog's ribs.

I knew a showline male like that, couldn't keep weight on him until after he turned 2.  Before that his ribs and hips always showed, no matter what they fed.  Picky eater too.  Now at almost 3 he is thin but you can't see his ribs anymore.

you should not be able to see any ribs   only feel them beneath the skin unless the animal has been excercised and then you may see them as the animal pants.how old is she?I have found that animals of some german breeding may take a little time to fill out.I feed my shepherds on the bones and raw food diet.ie.different minces each day with pulped veg and chicken carcasses.puts weight on my dogs both males and females .

She is skinny, I have figured that there is not a perfect diet for all dogs that each dog varies, we have to change to find out what suits them best. You wont believe but I've had seen pedigree dog food that did wonders for skinny dog while eukanuba failed to work for him.

Yeah she look's skinny but it's true some dog's just are not into food ;) I had a female that only cared about her balls but when she turned 2 she start to gain waight, for 2 years people though I was starving that dog lol. but even by my taste that dog looks like 5lb light.

i agree with sam.......the last two ribs showing is thin enough for most dogs.  this dog does not look unhealthy, though.  there does not seem to be any muscle wasting.  perhaps she is just one of those who stays really really lean.
