At Cascade Schutzhund Club/Verein, we sure did!! :-) It rained, but what's different about that in the Pacific NorthWET? LOL we held a Mock Trial on Saturday. We also had a surpeise birthday party for Training Director Les Flores, complete with a wonderful hot lunch, birthday cake and presents. The best thing--Les had no clue anything unusual was up!everyone had a great time, including those who learned what they neded to tweak (or more) before trialing next month.
Sunday was regular training. Great for some, I am sure. But, it snowed for the ELEVENTH time since Christmas week. It usually only snows once every 2 or 3 years around here, so this stuff has gotten old. I bailed on training, after driving only a third of the way (20 miles) in snow/sleet/slick-road stuff. I can deal with rain, but driving in any snow scares the crap out of me. :-)
Still, I count it as a great weekend. Spending the day with dogs, and dog people in a great club, with good training, good people and loads of camaraderie and laughter can really make a good weekend. Even rain can't dampen that! :-)

Lots of training went on around here. I trained most of Sat by myself, and with the club all day Sunday. I was so tired this morning I came home from work at lunch and took a nap. After our glorious sales meeting this a.m. (the company increased our individual sales goals 6x, with a few conditions I could easily have lived without) I wasn't very inspired anyway. Ha ha ha.

Unfortunately for me I was informed by dot that halo does not have what it takes to do schutzhund and there is no need to come back . I personally think they are full of sh77770t but what do I know anyway? so gotta punt!

Raymond,
I am very sorry. I can only imagine how disappointing that must be.
Generally, even if the TD dtermines that a dog lacks the ability for schutzhund, no one suggests that the owner leaves! In every club I have been in or know about, a person is encouraged to do what they can with the dog they have. You can still learn a lot about training for ther next dog(s). One of the best handler/trainers I know has always said her skills were partly the result of having had a series of dogss with issues or lacking drive in the beginning. There re other things one can do with a dog within the context of a schutzhund club. Some can end up competing in Fh championships, or obedience championships.

Raymond, there are other activities that you can do with your dog besides SCH, plus you should check out at least one more club and get second opinion, SCH is known for being a political sport's so make sure that you didn't become victim of someone's plot. ;) No one should tell you that you should not bother to come back there is always one more thing that you can learn/do with yoru dog. Good luck.

Raymond:
I,d get a 2nd and 3rd opinion if it were me, The training director in the original club I was in told several people that there dogs were dangerous and should be put down(nothing wrong with the dogs) , The second club I trained with the T.D. was notorious for more defense more defense in young dogs even puppies, even tied a 9 month old pup to a back tie by the collar and flanked him till he pissed him self and said he wold never work because his weak temperment...weak temperment... If i,d of been there i would of smacked him with a chair and screamed and said get up you pussy and fight for your life!!!! . And not to be asked to come back, sounds like you might be better off at a different club in my opinion.

thanks alot guys for your encouragement. I am so pissed that if I have to we will do it just for spite so I can shove her schutzhund one up theirs.I will go to several others and hopefully they will not be social or political clubs. I found it strange that after being voted in as a member last fall that they would refuse my return after trying differnt things with halo. Oh well fact is stranger than fiction and we do need thick skin to survive this fickle sport. Thanks again for your encouragement!
