I have a female that has been scratching the insides of her ears for the last couple of days. I asume that she may have ear mites so I medicated for that, what other things can make them scratch there ears? I can tell she is uncomfortable and will see if there is a difference in the morning. Other than that she is 100% healthy. Thanks.

it could be an ear infection, too much yeast in her ears, allergies, she could have gotten something down in her ear.

Do the insides of there ears turn red if there is a yeast infection?

Often their ears are dirty and  have accumulated crud and wax and debris.. they need to be cleaned regularly.....
Dogs very rarely get earmites unless they are exposed to a cat that has them.....
Good idea to have them checked out,  get a good ear cleaner and some panalog or that type of ointment.. I'd also look at diet....

I second Uber Land...my female somewhat recently got a yeast infection in her ears when my husband bought the wrong dog food by mistake (if you use food storage containers, always be sure to check the bag if your SO or someone else picks up food for you).  Her ears were red and itchy....she was quite upset about the whole thing but she's not used to pain or any health problems....lots of ear shaking, whining, scratching ears, and when I cleaned her ears there was a dark discharge.  The vet said it was caught fast and just sent us home with Malaseb flush, so if it's just a yeast infection, very easy to treat.  Just have a vet give a good look and probably swab her ears and the recovery can begin.  Good luck!  Hope she's feeling better soon!
