Curious about what yall wear to a typical day of training?
I am very curious about a what type of shoes do you wear when you go training?
What would you recommend for obedience and protection work? I see that some wear boots during tracking, what is the reasoning?    What type of boots are these?

You wear boots because the grass  is wet early in the morning.  So, you want waterproof footwear that will also protect your lower legs from the wet, too.  Some wear Wellies; some wear Muck boots; some wear overshoes (I don't recommend these, as they become very, very heavy!!).

Everyone I know wears athletic shoes designed for runing or hiking over rough terrain--good traction is CRITICAL.   In rain, those Muck boots or Muck shoes come out.   Some also wear cleated shoes.

Jeans and a t-shirt or sweatshirt, depending on the weather.  In rainy weather, lined, wind/waterproof pants.

as little as possible.  i know a lot of people like to wear training vest, to hide treats or toys in.    i perosnally dont.  i dont like the idea of "tricking" my dog into thinking i have something in my pocket to keep him working.  you work because i asked (told) you to, and if you do it correctly, i will reward you.

boots for tracking,  just to keep your feet dry, if needed.  otherwise, just shoes.  do you think track layers at a reg. or nat. event are wearing cleats and kicking the track in for your dog?  not likely.

Well, I train for a living, on a concrete floor, during busy season 9-10 hours a day or more. Outdoors if the weather permits. I wear tennies with extra insoles or crocs rx. The crocs are great, rinse off easy, and because of the holes wet feet dry out super fast. Usually jeans or a pair of track pants, and layers, a tee with a sweatshirt over the top.  I keep everything I need in my locker or a hoodie pocket, so I don't normally wear a vest, but I think I might get one with a bunch of pockets for when I'm training my own dogs on my own time. I just keep an extra pair of socks in my car for soggy tracking feet. In the summer, I always have a visor or hat to protect my face.

While I don't need them, I am considering getting my daughter a pair of cleats for for ring training and protection, she is pretty young and slight with a strong young dog.

t-shirt, old glue jeans, lightweight gortex hiking boots or walking shoes. If its cold, same plus polartec 200 jacket topped with gortex shell and gortex cap. I don't hid rewards from my dogs, I teach them trust and delayed gratification- they do good they know they will get their reward......
