Today is Sita's first birthday, she weigs 55 lbs. does anyone have any idea how much she may weigh at full maturity, She's neither fat nor skinney, thought the vet seems to think she's on the slim side.
Hero is 5 months and weighs 52 lbs at 5 months.
Does anyone want to venture a guess on how much they may weigh at full maturity assuming they stay lean?

You are suppose to hear the vet say " Oh she /he is a bit slim.".That is the way we want them..I heard someone say, at the trial, may have been you, " that dog is awful slim..".I remember, Yr telling you , with her ribs showing slightly, that is the proper weight for a working gsd or not working, doesn't matter.
Too many people think , a dog with weight on it is good.
Keep her/him slim. Exercise and good meat and your health problems stay in the lower percentage.

she just looks big to me, but I guess looks can be decieving.......I'd say your girl will probably gain 5 more pounds at most.

She tops out at 60lbs when she's soaking wet. :D
She has never been a fickle eater, never misses a meal, doesn't have any gastro issues, she's just tiny. Her dam was small also, though her sire I believe is 80-95lbs.
It drives me nuts sometimes because even compared to other shepherds I always feel she's tiny and people have to thump me on the head and tell me to stop worrying about her weight/size and concentrate on her training. Her drive to work is strong but she's not manic in her energy levels at home, she's just 'wee'.
Also for those of you who keep score on the 'spay/neuter=weight' debate, she was spayed back in October. I haven't altered the amount of food she gets and she has gained or lost a pound.
