After much research into the difference between OFA and PennHIP, I have decided that PennHIP is the more scientific method. I wrote an article for SchH USA magaine comparing the methods. Send me a PM if you would like to see the original article. I researched over 30 scientific abstracts from unbiased third party sources.

I totally agree that the Penn Hip is the better method, so why doesn't the SV honor it for breed surveys??
ScHbabe, I was told today that I need SV hips and elbows for a breed survey through USA, it this true, or only to have the SV recognize it in the show ring?  Is there a resource on this I can read?

I want to breed survey my bitch this summer, but need to go back and do her elbows.  She will be 5 in October and I though I would do OFA hips and Elbows, but my breeder said this would not be suitable for the breed survey.  Here hips were done by SV when she was 18 month and she was a1 normal.  I wanted to re-do them for peace of mind when I do her elbows, but dod not want to wait the months for SV when I can turn them around in a few weeks with OFA.

I am posting here rather than PM'ing as I think other would like an answer.

USA will recognize the koer with OFA elbows. You need to have SV elbows for the SV to recognize the koer.
