Registering a GSD from Colombia - Page 1

Hey everyone,
I have a specific question about registering a dog from Colombia.  I purchased a dog from a friend and she gave me all the paperwork she had, the dogs registration from the APPA (Asociacion Colombiana Para Perros Pastores Alemanes).  I was filling out the "Foreign Dog Registration Application" from AKC and was needing additional information.  So this morning I called AKC and talked to them.  According to them,they do NOT accept this registry, they ONLY accept Colombian dogs registered from "Asociacion Club Canino Colombiano".  I tried to call this ACCC Club and could not understand them at all.  I asked them if anyone spoke english and they couldn't say.  Anyhow, I need to know if any of you have ever had any success registering a dog that came from Colombia and if so, how did you go about it?  I did email them after I found their website and am waiting to hear back, if they know how to read english :)  LOL

The "Asociación Colombiana de Pastores Alemanes" is recognized by the "Asociación Club Canino Colombiano" and the latter is recognized by the FCI.  This is so, because the German Shepherd club is not allowed to have an independant relation with the FCI, all they do they have to do through the Asociación Club Canino Colombiano (which is the Kennel Club in Colombia, analogue to the AKC in US).
In other words, Asociación Colombiana de Pastores Alemanes is a sub-club of the Asociación Club Canino Colombiano (which should state somewhere in the pedigree). So AKC should think this again.
I only hope that the pedigree is really from Asociación Colombiana de Pastores Alemanes and that you made a mistake in writing "Asociación Colombiana para Perros Pastores Alemanes", because such club is not mentioned in the list of clubs recognized by the Asociación Club Canino Colombiano" (see http://www.accc.com.co/clubes.asp ).

Thank you for writing!  No one else has so far and I need some help with this!  It actually DOES say Asociacion Colombiana para Perros Pastores Alemanes APPA Pedigree De Ascendencia Seleccionada Y Adiestrada

Just for your information:  I got an email back from the Registry that I need to get him registered with AKC.  Here is what they wrote

I had a friend translate for me and he said that it pretty much said this: 

basically they are saying the dog (Pastor Aleman-Yako De Walhalla)  is registered with them and the license # LOC #50064 and that the owner Miquel Angel De La Pava and who lives in Tulua.-Valle. Colombia is the only person who can request from the association for a pedigree of export

So am I understanding this correctly?  that this man Miguel Angel De La Pava who lives in Tulua Valley, Colombia has to request the pedigree of export from the association?  So now I'll have to find HIM and get him to do this?  

Anyone here from Colombia that can help???? :)

sorry, I did not enter this messageboard until now. Normally, the breeder's name and address is stated in the pedigree. If not the breeder, the last owner should be registered. Anyway, Miguel Angel de la Pava is the person registered with the ACCC and the one you have to treat with. I just searched the Internet and I found the Colombian ranking of 2006: http://www.accc.com.co/Ranking2006.asp

I think the ACCC should know more details about that person (he has a good number of points in the ranking), so just write to ACCC and ask for his contact details.
