has anyone used this?
my new pup has been itching like crazy. i was bribbed into buying this 3V stuf $50 for 8 oz.

i have used grizzly salmon oil with him from the day i got him, raw eggs, raw foods and he is still dry.
can anyone help with what else i can do for his itchyness, or is it just the weather. he is inside at night, i live in n.y.
my heat inside is only at 65 degrees.

Hello Harley...I think just like us...during the winter time and the heat is on...that "dry skin" is going to happen...My dogs now live in their kennel...outside...but in a protected building...with insulation and a gas heater...Their skin doesn't appear to get dry or have flaking or anything like that...Now when I was in Florida the humidity was really bad on them...
I don't think you need too many extra things to their diet...mine get dry kibble...a few times a week they also get brown rice with veggies and chicken/liver...and then sometimes they'll get raw chicken....You can also add a little oil to their food to help out...
But my dog's skin and coat is much better now that I'm in Michigan rather then when I was in Florida...

Has he been bathed in anything?
Is the itching in one spot or all over?

50 bucks for 8 oz.  silly rabbit.

Could it be any form of alergic reaction?

I do give a puppy a bath at least once just for fun.   I don't use anything fancy, sometimes the wifes expensive shampoos but usually just the bargain basement crap she buys for me..LOL    I don't think it would hurt and they don't need it very often.  I don't buy special products, could even just use the bar of Dove.  Dove is good stuff...:)
Its dry here too, I heat with wood mostly and the furnace is electric and even worst for dry air,  I put a water pan out to evaporate and add moisture to the house.  Or just hunt up a humidifier somewhere.
I have had a dog who reacted to fish products, salmon and so on.   I still feed canned salmon but not to that dog.
If hes scratching all over maybe it is just dry skin, an egg is uaually all it takes around here to cure that.   Maybe brush him out before you give him a bath.
You never know about allergies and it can take forever to figure it out, if he scratches hiself raw then go see the vet.

You may want to have the Thyroid checked.

moons, it's just annoying scratching. nothing raw, no licking feet. i was giving him a raw egg atleast 4 times a week. i stopped but i will get him back on them.about the bath. that was attempted when i first got him. he screamed as if i was killing him just putting the water on him. i'va also tried taking him into the shower and using the hand held nozzle and he climbs up the walls. he HATES the water, so i just take a wet towel and go over him every now and then.

I had one who hated it too.   I had to get in with him and close the doors, let the tub fill as the shower ran and pour the water on him with a pan.  He never did get over that...LOL  ya couldn't keep him out of a mud puddle tho.   They'll survive without the bath.   Mine get all itchy in the winter too, I don't know how bad your is, if its constant It wouldn't hurt to have him looked at.  You might change the type of bedding your using or his favorite rug.  Look for a cheap humidifier or leave a pan of water on the stove.  Winters almost over.  Hopefully its nothing.

At the clinic we got something for a dog who needed the extra Omega Fatty Acids due a weird condition where her toe nails were just falling off!  I can't remember what it was called.   Those were called 3V snip tips or something.

You could try Derm Caps too.   A little cheaper and I think that with liquid stuff you waste a lot....
