Well after a very very long day...well I'll just tell you about it. I worked midnights last night and did not get off till 0700 this morning. I came home and got the kennel put in the truck and kinda got ready to go. I checked the weather and the radar a few times. Today we were suppose to get 5-8" of snow. I was going to be heading right into the brunt of the storm should we choose to go. If any of you are familiar with Steppenwolf Kennels, you know that its in St.Joseph County. Thats a 2 1/2 hour drive from Ann Arbor on a good day. We finally departed about 1030. Stopped and got an energy drink and away we went. It had started to snow and there was not even a inch on the ground and people were rolling their vehicles, crashing into each other...just a bloody mess. I had my 3 year old daughter with me and almost decided several times to just go back home. However, it was not really looking that bad so we continued. After stopping by the back, I had heard on the scanner that there was a major pile up about 30 miles west of my location and we would be there soon. As we got closer that indeed is what it was. A 14 car pile up with a couple of jacknifed semi's!!!! Any way that you could imagine a car to be crashed up it was there. Just unbelievable. We were delayed by that for about 30 minutes or so. I still had some time so we did not panic. After making it through that, through the next two counties the Eastbound I94 was a problem child, good thing I was going west. We came acrossed at least 7 more Jacknifed Semi's, 3 more 14-20 car pileups. Just unbelievable. After making it to Kalamazoo County at roughly 2:00pm things cleared up and the roads were actually a bit decent. Got to 131 and headed south smooth sailing.
Once we arrived at the kennel, Kristi as she has been all along was extreemly informative. I believe I asked a lot of questions and she answered them without any issues or problems. Trooper looked great. From the other pictures that I have posted here, he is a Bi-colored Male German Shepherd. Everything went very smoothly with Kristi and I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking for a German Shepherd.
Kristi, I know your not here often, but thank you so much for the hospitality that you provided my family and I. Thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions and just talk!! It has been an enjoyable experience, one that I hope does not end at buying. Special thanks also to Kelly again for ALL the help that she gave me, I would not have been able to purchase this Puppy had it not been for her expertice(Yes Kelly you are very experienced, and it showed) I appreciate the kind words, and the words of wisdom to run from the dog that I was considering to buy. For you that helped me out, your knowledge is priceless. I am sure that I will have other questions and I will not hesitate to post here. THANKS EVERYONE!
"Trooper Von Steppenwolf" is just over 3 months old and is very well tempered. He done very well on the ride home and only got sick one time. I had to spend a few minutes with him afterwards, but he was fine. Loaded him back up and home we went. Once at home, my lab/boxer mixed could have cared less that Trooper was in the house. After about 50 seconds she finally noticed him but pretty much just left him alone. So things are off to a good start. He did eat a couple handfuls of Puppy food and took very well to the rawhide chew.
He is still getting to know the house, and it will be a bit of time before he is comfortable, but already he is adapting to my daughter very very well. I was the first one to get kisses though!!!
I will have additional photos hopefully tomorrow during the day light.
I look forward to my newly formed friendships with Kristi and Kelly and the rest of you and just ask for your forgiveness if I ask a dumb or stupid question t

I am so sad that we can't see his picture.
In the second row of icons above the message box, there is one that has a mountain and a sun above it.
Click on that and put the location of the picture if it is on the web on Photobucket or there is a tab that says upload and you can click on browse and find the picture on your computer and upload it to the server for the database.
Can't wait for puppy pictures!

Still not entirly sure on his exact markings. He has tan markings on each side of his face, he has one little patch of white on his chest and some tan too. His legs, well you can see the tan in his legs. It has been said that he is a Bi-Colored GSD and probably will be a saddle back or blanket back. Only time will tell. Either way, he is now very excited to be with us and has learned to relax a lot. Took him to the Pet store yesterday and I am amazed that he has taken to my left leg the way that he has. He done very well on a leash and when we stopped he would lay down. I had 2 childeren ask if they could pet him which I allowed and I had 2 adults comment on how good lookin he was. One asked if he was a GSD. What a beautiful dog and I cannot wait to get to work with him and see exactly what he can do! Going to be a load of fun....
BTW....all of our daughters toys that you see laying around in one of the pictures and the letters in a container have all been put away, Trooper cannot get to any of them!!
Here is Trooper Von Steppinwolf
