Just did a back ground check on my doberman..to find that the papers are falsified.. The dogs dame passed away in 2005 and the dob was birth in 2006.. How do you deal with this? The dog was purchased from the USA and I live in Canada.. I have contacted the breeder and informed him of my findings and awaiting his explanation.. Geeze, why are these people so insane.. You think you have a great pedigree to find out you might of bought a peice of shit.. No wonder I have had so many flipping issues with this Dob... Grrrr I as well told the breeder if I do not hear from him I am taking this to the RCMP..Why can't people be honest for once..

Also go to the state involved and contact that states attorney generals office.
This is nothing new, I've heard similar stories many times.

I too would be completely pissed off.  Was this a working Dobe kennel?

by candis on 21 February 2009 - 20:02

Yup, it sure was a working dobie kennel.. I decided to complete a full investigation on the dog.. since I was having so many problems with her.. This dog came with some serious issues..Anyhow, I contacted the breeder in regards to the back ground and pedigree but of course recieved no response. Well, I google searched everything.. On the sires side she has Kimbertal...Bad bad bad.. On the moms side well of course Mom died in 2005.. but yet welped a litter in 2006.. I then contacted the person I purchased the dog from and she said to me in large words... I knew she died..Really, but you did not tell me.. So, is she 3 yrs old or is she 2 yrs old.. No response..Of course I am going to have this fully investigated..I have already sent in an email to the AKC.. and they told me to call on monday.. You know I am..Some people just don't get it.. Money does not grow on tree's and we paid an arm and a leg for this dog..Fraud is fraud and it will be dealt with.. Guaranteed.. Oh and by the way the dame died 5 hours after having a c-section..Now was that in 2005 or 2006??? Grrrr

Im sorry that your confused but  sometimes info gets crossed, cant tell you how much time I spent learning the difference in  dogs, same name and same dob but had different pedigree numbers. Guess what ! hes  from Germany,    the other AKC number  is his stateside number, but what a pain.Go slow and find out before you think someone took you. Dont know dobies to well ,had them in my 20, but  blood lines are blood lines.. DNA works but you have to do the work and expense. Dobies can be high strung and a pain at times, maybe just do some  research to make the dog the best it can be, as It is a done deal now.If

We have small claims here in most states. I would find out, you can do the paper work and have local Marshall serve the papers. In my area the limit for small claims is $7,000.  Then you would only have to fly down for court date. Then turn over to collection agency on judgement for a split of 60/40. Or if real determind you can do the leg work on assests from where you are.

And why did you not do this research PRIOR to buying the dog - especially if you paid big bucks????
