spunky aka zippy vom haus miller will be two tomorrow, (february 12). i am kind of excited.  i am considering celebrating somehow, not sure how though. does she even care about her birthday anyway? do you celebrate birthdays? if you do what do you do? she has alot of cute and cool collars, leashes, etc.  she gets rawhide retriever rolls every time i leave the house, and treats a couple times a week already. what other cool thing is there i could do to celebrate? can dogs have cake?

We do!
Kinda silly but we do.  They are members of the family too!  Right!?
We bring who ever's birthday it is to the the store (one that aloows dogs of course!) & let them "pick out" their present.

I know I am a schmuck, but yes I do. Everyday around here is like a birthday for my dogs but on their day we go someplace different. Or a place I know they like. If its summer a creek or lake to swim etc. They normally eat raw but on their day it has ended up being barbque hamburgers (no bread) and hotdogs. Then usually either carrot cake with cream cheese frosting or Pepridge Farm coconut cake and a small scoop of huckleberry ice cream. I don't know but I sing happy birthday too and somehow I think they know something is special going on. LOL I think my husband likes ther Birthdays too.

Not quite celebrate, but it does get acknowledged and they get something special on their birthdays.

The huckleberry ice cream sounds good! (Even though I don't know what kind of berry a huckleberry is.)

I usually take my dogs out for their "birthday hike." Then maybe a beer and a movie at home.

I take a few minutes to pull out pix and remember my beloved dogs who have already gone to the Bridge to wait for me on their birthdays.

On Eriel's first birthday I took her for a swim at the fancy new in-door dog pool-
So yes, birthdays are great days to celebrate the joy of having a special dog(s) in your life
