All:
I came across information today that appears related to a class action law suit against the manufacturers of the Canidea products. I had switched all my dogs from Inova Evo to Canidea "All Life Stages" when I got my current working dog, as that was her breeders were feeding at the time she was weaned. I did this as Canidea was considered a "super premium" food at the time (on level with Evo) but no store around me carried both, just one or the other -- so I opted to move all the dogs onto a single food to avoid driving to mulitple stores. I fed Canidea from 11/2006 to 8/2007 and my dogs, who'd had minimal health issues prior to the switch all started having problems, some serious enough to require vet treatment. I finally switched all the dogs back to the Invoa products after the ceaseless shedding, dull coats and other issues had gone on longer than I was willing to tolerate. I think the final straw was the fact that from one bag to the next (I was going through about a bag a week with 4 shepherds) their stools were changing dramatically from, with *a lot* of very loose stools.
I'm assuming there is more than enough evidence of some sort of wrong doing - as attorneys don't typically take looser class action cases. The issue makes me VERY angry as I paid a lot (and went to a lot of extra effort to get the food- it was only carried in a few local retailers) assuming I was doing right by my dogs. I'm guessing that I paying more only to create health issues for them.

I feed my dogs Canidae during the same time period, chicken and rice formula and had not problems whatso-ever, including with my EPI dog.

I too have had all my dogs on All Stages for the last 6 years with excellent results......not sure about the formula change though, although it's minute.......coats still shiny, dogs are spunky, nothing unusual that I can see.

My dogs always looked good on Canidae, but I got tired of cleaning loose stool and a lot of it.

Blueshep, did you have this before the formula change also? I did have some issues with this after it changed...mostly ok now.
Thanks

My dogs went down the toilet, lost weight, poor stool, poor coat.

T is on Canidae Platinum. He does great on it.
I had poor luck with all the ALS versions. I fed it for months and finally had to give up because of the reasons mentioned above + the HORRIBLE smell of the huge volume of loose stool turned my stomach. It smelled like my dogs guts were rotting.
