this is from "dog owner's home veterinary handbook" 3rd edition. we have followed this for the last few years and never had a problem. we keep the females in the house so they do not get over hot/cold or over work themselves.

Detailed Description |
Used to suppress milk production and so especially useful for bitches experiencing phantom pregnancies This remedy has been compiled in consultation with homoeopathic veterinary advisors to ensure that the remedies offered are safe for you to give to your animals. Each dispenser contains approximately 100 pillules and is unique as it enables the tiny pillules to be administered straight into the mouth of the animal without being touched by the hand, as this should be avoided when giving homoeopathic remedies. ADMINISTRATION The administration size is always the same for any size or breed of animal but the frequency of administration varies according to the condition being treated: Give 1 every two hours for up to twelve hours then 1 three times daily until an improvement is shown It is preferable, but not essential, to avoid giving homœopathic remedies within 15 minutes of food or drink. Having taken advice from today's foremost homoeopathic vets, we are pleased to be able to reassure clients that there is no need to discontinue giving garlic in any form while also giving homoeopathic remedies. |

Sometimes I just can't figure people out.
Crazydog,
Don't cut back on food, don't be in such a damned hurry to dry up her milk, if she's that full let the smallest pup give her some relief. The milk will dry up when its time.
Jesus!
