John Doeland?  You actually gave money to someone named John Doeland, without checking him out first?  Yikes.

Hi I just joined but have read this board awhile. Seems like this would be a great place to put info on kennels, people etc that are not "quite" honest. I can not beleive some of the stuff people advertise and sell. I love the "DDR ads" and  "all working" and then in generation 4 there are show line dogs. Where I  come from that is false advertising. It is also very  misleading to  people new to the breed.
If you truly love the breed we need to educate people.
I have a training business so I see the effects of poor breeding and pups sold to the wrong homes.  I can not fix it if the gennetics are not there or the dog is not suited to the home.
It is sad it is about money   sell... sell... sell

Unfortunately this happens a lot here, I never buy or pay for a dog that I have not seen in person for this simple reason

now hold up, i have a female that is a working line, but her grandmother was a sch3 showline, as was her mother and father were sch3. how is that false advertising? though they are show blood, they still earned their sch3. all working dogs have a show dog somewhere in their pedigree, whether 3rd generation or 6th. workinglines benefit in my opinion from having a little showline in the back to maintain size and structure.

Boddy, I agree .what work the dog does is for the owner to decide, blood lines just give you the best chance of your dog going were you want it. Seams show blood that has Schh titles, can produce nice lines  that can work. I do have to wonder why a person would buy a dog with out checking out blood lines first , and then you still take your chances .Its aways buyer beware . Most kennels will offer a replacement in contract if the dog doesnt  meet the agreeded apond  terms, why sent the dog back and no replacement?

i am in now way a show enthusiast, i think its too uppity and demeans the purpose of the breed, but has anyone taken a VA show dog and tried to seriously train for sch to get to nationals? i dont like the breed being broken down into two categories depending on who the grandfather is.

T Floyd did it a few years ago with VA Fabian vom Mittelwest. Competed at the Nationals and was Universal Sieger.

if more people would train their show dog to work in a serious sense, i think it would be great to have them in the working world gene pool. or as breeders have we completely screwed the breed in so many fashions that now its not possible? working lines are too small, ugly crooked, big headed, etc to show and show dogs are too roach backed, fragile, weak bite, etc to compete? where will the breed be in 100 years? working lines will be 50 pounds, crooked and angry little bastards and show lines will not be able to run at all or jump because they are too damn fragile and will dislocate a hip if they try. thats where we are headed and have ourselves to blame for the last 20 years of breeding ignorance. face it, each segment, working and show, need each others genes. show lines need work lines to maintain durability, soundness and the drives and working line needs show lines to keep the size, clearheadedness, and structure. its kind of turned out like todays politics, two sides that think they are always right.

Good luck getting that point to hit home.
