In A  nutshell  ->  Will introduce new blood and hence new genetic traits

Linebreeding--->  Only if you know what you are doing and can predict the outcome. (And believe me there are people who have literally mastered this art and can predict better than cloning machines....)

What I or someone else "Likes" is not the important point. What it boils down to is what are you doing this breeding for? What is your goal and what do you plan to achieve in the litter from this particular breeding....

Cheers & Good Luck

( Hope this was not just to get people to use their Kinesthetics and type since this topic is really beaten to death but since you say you are a new kid on the block I assume you are a novice....)

RONNIERUNCO,

Sorry, but I'm fairly new to this message board.  Ronnie, is that your wife in your avitar?
It amazes me one thread can lead to soooooo many different paths that get so off track with the original post???

INBREEDING AND LINEBREEDING ARE THE WAY TO GO. YA GOTS TO TIGHTEN THAT BLOOD UP. THE PIC IN MY AVATAR IS MY LITTLE SNICKERDOODLE BEETREE. IT WAS TAKEN AT THE COUNTY FAIR. IF IM EXTRA GOOD SHE LETS ME GIVE HER A FULL BODY MASSAGE WITH WITCH HAZEL.

A line breeding is meant to be somewhat predictable for the breeder and potential clients of the pups. You always have to remember there's a little chance of producing defects otherwise hidden deep within a bloodline by line-breeding. Almost every good GSD has some degree of line-breeding in them, even if you have to go real far back to find it. After all, they all were founded upon Stephanitz' first few breeding dogs, who were inbred to create the breed.

An outcross can produce healthy, vigorous pups, but  somewhat unpredictable in drive, personality, etc until mature adulthood. It may or may not be the best suitable breeding to do. It just depends. Dogs already heavily line-bred can sometimes use a "type" breeding instead rather than more line-breeding. Anyone doing either should be very educated on the bloodlines being bred with before attempting, and be willing to be fully responsible for everything produced.
