hips and actually when I researched pedigrees on our database last year, had a hard time finding pedigrees without a vast number of Nz...
The link above is from Fred Lanting 's book and he explains about the ratio of age when ofa or penn is done and is a very good article to read...
He addresses the tighness of the excellent hips also against age of dog when ofa is done and how the ofa was attained...very good article. I have to re read it all the time....very deep stuff.

In answer to your question, the answer is yes IMO, you were being too hasty. If this was a litter that really had your interest, you might want to do a little more research and see what they are throwing and the above comments. Good luck

How can you have too tight HIP..How can breed perfect hip to perfect hip give too tight hip??
This is one of the stupidest comment I've heard on this board,,sorry to tell you that..
You should be worried about fair-to-fair hip breeding..of course you have to look deeper on the ancestors but even if the ancestors have all good hips..I would still be worried about what's next in those pups..
I think you have made a good decision if it is a dog you want to include in a breeding program..if it is just for a pet..than it is something else..you still could take a chance..Fair is fair..it is not dysplastic..
