but JMO the sockets don't have enough coverage over the ball of the hip. especially dogs right side. I would x-rays about a month or 2 after her heat, but at the moment I don't think they would pass. if they did it would be barely.

I presume that you live stateside, so if you goal is to submit her radiographs to the S.V., I suggest that you make a duplicate radiograph when she is just past one (1) year of age and ask O.F.A. to evaluate one (1) film as a preliminary radiograph, obtain the results, and if she passes O.F.A. you can send the other radiograph to the S.V.. The S.V.'s opinion tends to be final except in extraordinary circumstances, so I would not take the risk.
But I do not see serious defects, and I see no evidence of thickening. These hips may pass O.F.A. at the age of two (2) years but I would be mindful of the shallow socket in regards to her upbringing. Who knows? With proper positioning and tight joints she may easily pass as O.F.A. "Fair" and that grade is nothing to cause shame.
Good Luck!

I already supplement with E and Glucosimine Condroiten - (please over look that spelling), us there anything else that could help? Would adding a calcium to her diet help to increase bone, or would it make a difference?
Thank you so much for the comments.

I have a 10 year old Aussi rescue that has HD. She started running funny at about 28 months old. I had X-rays and discovered that she had HD. At the time, my vet told me that if its detected early enough a procedure (TCO) can be done that will fix it and the dog will be able to live its life pain free. The TCO has to be done before a dog is 10 months or its too late.........I didn't find out soon enough for my Aussie. I wanted to make sure that my GSD puppy was OK early enough to have that option if necessary.
I had the X-rays done for my sake, not becasue I felt that there is a problem wiht my puppy.

No I will not put this puppy through such a painful procedure.
Raw chicken makes this dog puke (even small pieces) and have the runs all over the carpet, I've tried 3 times now to switch her over.
Glucosamine helps my old Aussie, and it helps my knees.......it doens't hurt the dog..........so why not?
