Earlier today she urinated in floor, it was an average amount of urine. I thought she did it because she was angry as my fiancee and I were both working in the house and she wasn't our focus point as she usually is.
This afternoon, I ran to the Pet Store for dog food and Lowes for a few things we needed, was gone 2 to 3 hours. My fiancee calls my cell phone and tells me Heidi (my female) has urinated 4 times in the house while I was gone. There appears to be no blood in her urine. I am trying to get a urine sample as I wait for the vet to call back. I am very scared, this dog is my life. She IS spayed. Feel free to ask for details or contact me privately at nwilz@aol.com or via PM. Any help or advice much appreciated. Her vet is out of town and I'm having to use a back up vet so if anyone knows a FINE vet who does after hours calls in Alabama, GA, or TN, please let me know, I will drive to get the best for my dog. Is there anything I should be checking for? She is otherwise normal, active, no temperature. The only thing abnormal is she ate a lot last night and this morning (I feed RAW and had some Venison that was about to go bad and no room in my freezer so I gave her some extras). Again, any help, ideas, or support appreciated. Does this sounds as serious as I fear it is? Or could it maybe be an infection or something easily treated?
Thank you all so much,
Nichole and Heidi

Her urine is quite light, looks normal of a well hydrated dog. No strong smell.
Thanks,
Nichole

Hi, I agree with everyone else, sounds like a UTI. They can be nasty to get rid of, but if everything else is normal I would not panic. Typically the urine will be dark colored(orange colored almost) and have a very strong odor. Good luck and please keep us posted on her! Iunderstand the worry, last may my 5mos. old male seemed to be having seizure like episodes, no shaking just very out of it, salivating, etc. All the bloodwork was normal but we did a bile acids to rule out a liver shunt etc., after all the panic we found out it was from drinking an excessive amount of water which in turn threw his electrolytes out of kilter. All the worry and $$$$ for specialist and it was from an electrolyte imbalance! Go figure it's always the weird things around here. :)

GIVE HER THE KIDS ELECTROLYTE OR THE BABY DRINK FOR BALANCE...MAKE SURE SHE CONTINES TO DRINK AND EAT BLAND DIET...PUT HER ON LOW PROTEIN NO HIGH PROTEIN AT ALL......RICE WOULD BE GOOD...NO PROTEIN WITH KIDNEY OR URINARY TRACT PROBLEMS..... MAY HAVE TO BUY THE NASTY SCIENCE DIET AT PETSMART....COUPLE OF CANS WHILE SICK.......LOWEST PROTEIN YOU CAN FIND.....
VERY IMPORTANT NO PROTEIN....... 3.5 4.0 AT THE HIGHEST UNTIL DOG IS WELL......

Thank you for all the well wishes!
I just heard from the vet. He told me to go ahead and start her on Cephelexin tonight and try my hardest to get a urine sample. We'll know more once I can get a urine sample. Her urine is not dark or foul smelling. She's drinking a little more than usual, but nothing major.
YR, thanks for the tip...I just fed her RAW but tomorrow morning I'll run get her some low protein stuff. Is Salmon or Jack Mackeral low protein or too high? She hates rice but maybe I can get her to compromise with me.
Thanks so much for the advice and please keep my girl in your thoughts and/or prayers.

someone told me you can't buy the Kd Science diet////for kidney without a prescription...if not ask the vet at petsmart to tell you what is like it...or ask him to ok you buying it...of course he will try to get your dog in his office..
I would steal the dog food before I would take a dog to a vet at petsmart.....
Yellowrose
P.S> Cephflexan is used for so many things..i did know you could use it but I like sulfa drug better....i keep all of them on hand...
Boil some meat in water and add the rice into it like chicken and rice.....but dont feed the chicken.....take out the chicken and feed the rice with just a tiny bit of chicken put back into the rice.....surely he will eat that....small dish three times a day..... a drop of extra virgin olive oil in it...nothing else...no treats no proteins....
if he will eat a few green beans in his rice with chicken ,,put a few of them in....

UTI's are not fun. I remember having one, had to pee every 10 minutes and the burn,,,,,,,,
I had a cat that used to get UTI's two weeks after eating a certain type of cat food. It had a high ash content........
Vet gave her sulfa drug, and told me to find a low protein cat food (science diet kd), lots of water. She was better in no time. Once we connetcted the cat food with the UTI, we didn't buy that one again and she didn't get another UTI.....
The vet may check for bladder stones, fever, may take a blood sample, then send you home with some pills and a 200 bill.
