I train anywhere not in malls (shopping centres UK) as dogs not allowed in them, but anywhere busy train stations etc. I also take my dogs into pyschiatric units, and socialise them with people who have learning disabilities (Intellectual Disabilities US) vet surgerys anywhere outside of shows/competion grounds/training areas.

I train all over the place as well. I feel its good experiance for all concerned it stimulates the dogs mind as well as mine.. Mind you I have had a few weard situations happen.

1) A man came over while I was playing tug with my 12 month old female. He grabbed her tail her ear and then smacked her under the jaw. I was in total shock wham my girl nailed him. Buddy took off as I screamed at him.

2) A second individual came directly over to me reaching for my dog H no not again. I yelled at the man and said do NOT touch my dog. Why? Will she bite me? What a stupid question

Anyhow, my point here is I do not have issues when people come up introduce themselves then ask to pat the dog.. Other wize stay the Hm away.. What and how would you handle a situation such as this?

Not as much after I was chased down by an idiot with his Dane pup who insisted, screamed actually, that I HAD to let my 11-month old male play with his dog.  We were in a public place so that's what I HAD to do.  What I do is take them into a select number of stores after making making sure no idiots with there dogs are there.
