I was looking through the classified ads and was wondering if puppies whose parents are not titled still worth $1000-$2000? If so, why?
I also came across a 18 month old showline male who is priced at $2000. Dad isn't titled but mom only has a SG. Why is he worth that price if parents don't have titles?
How do professional breeders base their price on adult dogs and puppies? (besides titles and training)
I saw another site where non of the parents are titled yet the puppies for sale are $1200-$1500. The older the pup the more pricey it gets. (for ex. there is 2 dogs posted over 1 and half years old going for $3,500 and $4,500 but either have titles except for 1 had a SG4 and both have little bite work done)
any inputs??

There's a bitch for sale from Spain, that I would love... she is beautiful, but she's €5,000 + shipping... so £5,000! If I could, I think I would but I'd have to see her first! Some dogs exchange hands for many, many thousands!

Some well known breeds like to test out there new young studs on there breeding abiltiy before spending the time and money on titling them. Who wants to spend a couple of grand on a dog who doesn't breed good stuff or won't breed. As for breeder who only breed non-titled, some lines are very saut after and harder to find, mostlikely the price of "Rarer Lines" will be the same as pups from titled parents.

remeber if you are purchasing a puppy out of a dog with titlesdoesnt mean your puppy is capable of the titles they parents have achieved.
pricing is do to accomplishments whether recognized titles or street patrol credits or even pedigreed combination. it depends on what you the buyer are looking for.
if i wanted a rear bloodline for my breeding program with or with out titles i will be willing to spend the money on said puppy.
if there was a dog out of a bsp sieger and 50x's sch3 female but does me no good in my program i wouldnt give $500 for it.
point being if you want a dog and want to spend the money on it that determines that said price.

It's all about the B.S . If you have it, you can sell an oversized dog, parents nontitled, for 3,000. Just look at pendragons

Yeah, i agree. Sometimes I feel that some dogs are over priced and people are gulable and pay the price asked. I'm very picky on what I spend money on and how much. Back in the day dogs were never $1,000s of dollars.
I did a google search on pricing of dogs. I don't know how much is true. Feel free to fill me in. I heard a litter could cost a breeder $10,000+ to produce puppies (8-12). That included vet bills for puppies and mother. Theres other things they factor in there but i have to find the site to list the whole load down.
So basically the breeder makes up for the amount spent breeding and gets a little extra for the litter. Is that about right??
I want a gsd in the future but don't want to break my pockets when I eventually get one. I very picky as far as looks go. It seems like the more beautiful the dog I come across the more expensive it is. I hate the american gsd so I won't even bother to buy from those breeders.
missbeed 5,000+ is way too much for a dog in my opinion. I can't see me spending that kind of money on a dog if I can use it towards bills, you know?

Yes, I do know lol, but she's simply stunning... have a peek under, "Latest entries", look at the right hand column for "Spain", she's about the third or fourth one from Spain and the price is there too!
I can't see how it would cost that much to rear a litter... it's not cheap but $10,000... I really don't think so!
