The following quote taken from Schutzhund USA magazine Vol 34 No1 January/February 2009
"From our NBW (National Breed Warden)
" A new trophy catagory has been created for 2009 - recognition for the Working Class dogs that exhibit the top performance work during the protection phase."
"The BAC has been diligently at work improving the guidelines for the protection phase at the Sieger Show. Next year several changes will be in effect. The distance in the courage test will be lengthened. Helpers will again be selected from the National Helper Committee. Handlers will not be allowed to visibly pump up their dogs at the start of the courage test. The Working class judges will be required to observe the performance test. The BAC will continue to evalutate this area and make additional changes as necessary."
It is nice to see that some steps are being made to correct a situation that has gone on entirely too long. I would like to THANK EACH member of the BAC who heard our collective voiced and written complaint in regard to the ongoing issues involved with the USA Sieger Show. This is definitely a good first step in correcting the situation. Thank you for hearing us, and taking the necessary first steps to improve the judging of the performance test portion of the sieger show.
THANK YOU to EVERYONE who took the time to sign the online petition and voice your concern and opinion. Collectively, we spoke up and we were listened to. This is a good first step in promoting our collective desire to see the rules being followed, as they are written, and to promoting the correct working ability of the German Shepherd Dog.

a very good start, see if we all stand together maybe we can make more changes and unite the 2 lines into 1 like it should be, and have them all shown

It's a great idea, and a good step in the right direction. Now we just need to get some working lines in this Sieger to show us how the work is really done.
wouldn't it be nice to see a dog really earn this award, come on guys and girls there are many working lines deserving of at least a "V" rating, we know the "VA" are ususally bought anyways, really doesn't mean much except to the SL folks.
