What do people feed. Pros and Cons of the food?

If you do Raw how do you do it?  Pros and Cons..

Cost effectiveness in comparison to the 2?

Right now I have Atlas and Isabelle on Purina Proformance and I am debating about switching them both to raw..

Thanks

If you do Raw how do you do it?

Buy chicken, beef, pork, etc. Give meat to dog.
I do not feed grains, fruits or veggies, so yes it is that easy.

If you're interested in switching, punch raw into a search on here and you'll find plenty.

Pros
In my own humble opinion....

 - Healthier for the dog
 - No grains and cereal fillers, no artificial flavours & colouring, no chemicals....etc.
 - I know what he's eating
 - I can tweak his diet if needed
 - no dental problems - including doggie breath (which is just kibble rotting between teeth)
 - Shiny coat
 - sustained energy
 - As a pup...slow and steady growth
 - cost effective
 - If I run out of food I can pretty much buy meat 24/7. I'm not stuck having to switch brands in a pinch.
 - My dog loves eating it and I take more pleasure in feeding the dog
 - lots more stuff, but this is off the top of my head

and Cons..
 - To purchase things economically you need a large freezer (I have two)
- I have to defrost meat daily instead of just scooping stuff out of a bag
 - I've never had a problem, but if you need a dog sitter, there might be issues.
 - Some people think it's harder to travel when raw fed. I disagree. I travel a lot. On the road I bring a cooler, or hit a grocery store. Many people will gorge & fast (feed extra the day before, or the day after a fast day) for a day if their trip is short.
 - Not all vets approve of feeding raw. Mine doesn't, but he can't argue with how healthy my boy is, so now he keeps his opinions to himself.

Cost effectiveness in comparison to the 2?
This is one of the most difficult things to learn when feeding raw: how to buy meat cheaply.
I now know where to buy, have deals with butchers, and all my friends know that I get all their freezer-burned meat. I check flyers and if something is on sale very cheap, I stock up!!
Right now I'm feeding 2-3 pounds a day for about $30.00 a month. I have friends who feed for much less and some that feed for free.
