VA1 Jeck vom Noricum - Page 1

I just want to know about this dog.  He is in a lot of pedigrees.  I want to know if you line breed with him how are the progeny turning out?

Does he have good traits he passes on when line breed?

Any other info on this dog would be great.

I'm thinking of breeding my female with a male and they both have him in the pedigree.  The male I'm looking at is Fritz Vom Goldenen Zweig.  His pedigree link is http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/537830.html

I would also like to know more about this male if any one has any info on him.  I just want to get as much info on him as well before I go and see him in person.  He only lives about 30 mins from my house.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Jeck is in a LOT of German showline pedigrees. He turned out to have HD and I believe he limped badly around the ring during his last progreny group showing, which was years ago of course. There was no Zuchtwert number system back then. HD is polygenic (carried on more than one gene) so it's not a bad thing necessarily to have Jeck 5 to 7 generations back. Many, many dogs have Jeck in their 7 generation pedigree.

Look at the dogs closer to your dogs, that is, 3 to 4 generations back and get the ZW numbers and read their Koer reports. You might get more answers on the German showline site - I think it's www.dsh-biz.de  Ask the dog's owner for references and check them. Ask to see any puppy pictures of pups he's sired. I don't know the dog so can't help there.

I have to say my Jeck v Noricum son was one of the cleverest dogs I have ever owned.  His temperament was a bit soft, but he was a terrific ambassador for the breed and lots of his puppies became police or prison service dogs and had moderate success in UK Obedience and Working trials, his pups seemed to be very mouldable, bring them up placid and that's what they would be, encourage drive and you got quite a bit of it, though natural protectiveness was a bit lacking.  He had good hips and generally produced good hips, even 0.0 's and his son, Nyrvana Tao, was one of the best hip producers according to Malcolm Willis's charts.  Ears could be a little slow to come up sometimes, but they got there without help.  Overall, I was pleased with what I got from him.

Mine females have all Jeck in there pedigree or are inbreed on them
Jeck was a top prducing male
