This pup is starting her sixth week. She has very nice scissor bite. Her top and bottom canine teeth are just right in off-setting each other.
On one side of her mouth, the bottom canine is rubbing her top gum line, creating a groove. I think the groove is about 1/16 inch deep.
I was a bit worried but then again think that perhaps it is normal for the gum line to change to fit the canine teeth.
I inspected mom's teeth. She also has perfect scissor bite and indeed her gum line has a depressed area to fit the lower canine.
I have no experience with pups younger than nine weeks old.
Is this normal? Will the gum line simple mode itself to fit the canine teeth? Obiously the pups head still has a lot of growth.
Too small for closeup picture.

my male i kept from my last litter has the same issue. my vet said that letting him chew on toys that are slightly larger than his lower jaw will help to spread the teeth out . he equated it to the same thing as braces. by chewing on something slightly larger it would push the teeth out. as my pup still has baby teeth, im not overly worried about it. once his adult teeth come in i will keep a closer eye on it and see if it has helped. so far (been about a week) i have noticed that the tooth looks to be not pushing in as much.

Looks like in just a few days the "groove" has been enlarged and all seems normal. I think the gumline for a very young pup, 3-4 weeks, is supposed to be interrupted by growing teeth from the opposing (up and down) side.
The groove has changed to normal looking indentation along the gumline.
