"a" stamp means that the hips were certified in Germany.    ausland means certified in another country.....

"a" normal

"a" fast normal, etc. etc.

I don't know the rest off the top of my head.    Or a1, a2, a3, a4..........

Thanks everyone for your help,

This is NOT my first German Shepherd but he is my first  with a pedigree and although I am not breeding him-I just wanted to try to learn about his  pedigree and how to read it-and what it means etc ..but if I looked there I wouldn't know what all the codes and titles and SV this and that  meant anyway lol!!

It would be cool to see who he is related to- oh  and  find out why he is so driven to play soccer ! He uses his feet for everything!

We play all the time -he has to have one ball in his mouth and kicks the other one with his feet- he has to always have something in his mouth while we play!!  I can get him to drop it but I have to offer him another ball  and then throw that one lol! He will Platz in a micro second if I hold a ball lol....

I had asked the breeders for a lower drive pup if it were possible-they said his parents were couch potatoes when I bought him and he will be low drive and calm-which I was wondering how they could know that for a fact!.

Well, I didn't want a couch potato anyway -just not as driven as my female that I had- and I do understand that is is part genes and part environment that determines the outcome of their drive ( am I right?)  but when I told them  he is not a "couch potatoe and shows no signs of becoming one in the near future  and all he wants to do is play ball and stick 24/7 they said- ohhhhh of course he would be because he comes from a long line of Schutzhund titled dogs!!  So I can't read a pedigree so I won't know anyway-they can tell me anything LOL

But he is  my life and I love him dearly- and I go out to trails and beaches every day- ( even in  slippery  snow covered ice like today -dumb I am) and  we walk and run and play ball untill he gets tired ( me too). SO I guess I am doing enough for him - I hope!!

I love this board, you are all so nice:)

Thanks again

Karina and Kaiser

you can enter your dog in the database.... that might make looking at the pedigrees a little easier.   plus you can see pics of the dogs in his pedigree.   The father is in the database........

If the pedigree/papers is in German....I agree that it might be a little harder to read!   I can understand most of it, but not all....
