Promeris Flea/Tick for Dogs - Page 1

I just realized after talking with my vet at Fort Jackson that Promeris was pulled from their shelves because of adverse complaints about the product.

I experienced problems with my Yorkshire Terrier after beginning the Promeris treatments.  Prior we used Frontline.  Fort Jackson was only stocking Promeris at the time and was sure it was safe.

For the last three applications my Yorkie has been having hair loss, and terrrible itching.  I remember she experienced a bad episode of bloody diarrea during this time also.  I am looking up her medical records.  I take her to Banfield for her checkups and am a member of the health plan.  Banfield had not had any reports on Promeris.  I buy my medications from Fort Jackson because it is cheaper.   Since the last trip to Banfield for itching, we put her on Advantage andthe itching has stopped and so has the hair loss.  I feel let down by the vet service at Fort Jackson for not notifying my of the possible problems with Promeris.  I would like to hear from others if they has a problem with this product and what we should do about it.  This product may need to be removed from consumers.     Thank you.
