Uber Land

I remember reading a thread a few months back discussing raw feeding.  in it someone posted a link to a website in Austrailia that simplifies raw feeding.  it was to a gsd breeder and they discussed feeding meat and bones but no reason for supplements,  does anyone remember that link and can share it with me?

Hi Uber Land:  I don't know about the one you are looking for, but here is one of my favorite RAW websites, and the recipes can't get any easier:

thanks sueincc

I was talking to alady who is having diareahh problems with a 4yr old gsd female.  no matter what they do she always has it.  all her test come back negative or clean.  She is fed Pedigree.  I suggested getting off a corn based kibble and start feeding some raw with bones.  She told me her vet told her not to feed raw because it would cause more problems.  I told her the only problem she would have is the vet not getting as much money from her.  I was trying to find articles for her to look over where the idea of feeding raw didn't seem soo overwhelming

Yuck, Pedigree, how awful - and she is wondering why the dog is sickish.  These people think their vets are the end-all with regards to all aspects of their pets but they don't bother to think about how could that be when  veterinary schools in their entirety only provide a total of maybe  2 weeks study regarding animal nutrition (sponsored by Hill's -duh great).

My regular vet has no problem with RAW fed dogs.  He said he did in the beginnning when all the dire consequences were being predicted, but guess what - his clients who feed RAW have healthier dogs, the proof is in the pudding.  My veterinarian oncologist actually recommends that  her clients switch and feed her patients a RAW diet.  She treats the entire animal, not just the cancer and feels good nutrition is an extremely important element in fighting cancer.  She also feeds RAW to her own dogs.

I wish RAW DOG RANCH was still up and going, they were a great place to refer people who were new to RAW.   Apparently, some idiot screwed up the website and planted a Trojan on some of the pages so the author had to delete the entire thing.  Last I heard, they were still planning to put it back up, but I can't find anything more about it.

This is another good link: www.rawlearning.com/rawfaq.html. The author is not selling anything and there's no agenda apart from the proper nutrition for dogs.

I'm just now at the tail-end of my first week switching to raw and I don't have a lot to go on except that the stool volume is about 25% less, they appear to be more consistent, and they don't smell so horrible. Perhaps the biggest bonus is that my dog's gas problem seems to have resolved.

I'm curious about this:

I was talking to alady who is having diareahh problems with a 4yr old gsd female.  no matter what they do she always has it.  all her test come back negative or clean.

Did they just get this dog?  Or has the poor thing had diarrhea for 4 years?  Or did they just switch to Pedigree and she was eating something else before?

Gary, I never saw that one before, but I have added it to my "favorites" I think it's a good one to refer new RAW people to.

Your link talks about feeding raw herring.
Here's the deal. I fish and I buy frozen herring for bait. I thaw it out in water as I fish, and at the end of the day, we toss the remaining herring. We don't use them again as fresh thaw stays on the hook better.
So, if you or anyone else knows, can a guy just refreeze the bait we never used, but kept on ice and free from salmon blood, and pull it out for the dog when needed??? It would be nice for them not to go to waste, as they can very expensive, beside, I am a Scotsman by blood, so I don't like to waste so much as a dime. ; >)
