I know vet, and will be going, however, until Monday. I would like to try a natrual remedie, I have pulled out my books and want to see if anyone has tried a treatment.

Male puppy 8 months, losing hair along lower lip, not inflamed. I think it is staph. I read about Garlic and staph, However burns skin and can blister and leave 3rd degree burns with direct skin contact. Also read tree tea oil, but not sure if licks woud this be safe?

any ideas

T tree would have been my suggestion but I don't know about the safety angle for sure tho' I know Josh licked his belly with no bad effects!

missbeeb,  did the tree tea oil get rid of it? how often did you put it on and how much. With it on the mouth, drinking water is going to take it off?  Are there different doses of this?

The T tree worked tho' it came back and required another zapping for a few days.  Mine was a ready to use, pump spray so I guess there would have been instructions.  I'm going to go and have a look for it now... I'll get back to you.

Found it... no strength % on the bottle but it's for animals.  Just says, to spray directly on to area twice a day and to keep away from eyes!

If you're concerned about too much getting in his mouth with a spray, maybe soak some cotton wool & dab on the area?
