I took some pictures of my friends American Showline the other day. She is 6 months old, she is not my type of dog but she is the perfect match for her owner. Let me know what you think- And yes she does pick up radio signals from Germany with those ears....

Looks like a little cutie, but the 7 generation pedigree is scarey!!

I really don't see too many good looking dogs that I would personally like to own specially American (very picky) but looking at her gait picture (showing her over all structure) I really like her. Yes, she has some large ears but I have seen worse and she still has some time to grow in to them. She is very tall for her age but she looks mature for her age and well put together. I love her expression in the picture also. I like her head, If I did not see that she was a female I would of thought a young male. Love the neck and the shoulders and top line from what I see of the picture again nice well put together. Her coloring is not done changing, would like it darker but nice dark face. As for her pedigree I have seen the same done in Germany and Czech so no really surprise. Nice to see the hips scores in her pedigree.
Is she missing her two bottom front teeth?
What is her temperament and drives like?

Yeah, the breeding was a tight one.... Yikes, I did not notice the teeth I'll see her tomorrow morning I'll check that first thing.... I'm going to guess that her "big girl" teeth just did not pop out all the way yet but I'll see. I agree for being a working line person myself I do have to admit that the gaiting pic is very pretty. She lives with 2 rotten Chihuahuas and a mini Doxie and it is freaking hilarious to see the pack order if she had killer prey drive the wee ones would all be toast. She is a sweetheart to her inner circle of people but when strangers come to the property she makes sure they know she's watching out, she has a great bark. She belongs to an older couple who live out in the country so she's essentially a companion/visual deterrent.

Just curious- why do you think her 7 generation is scary?
by zacsmum on 14 December 2008 - 20:12
Okies, im ready, load the gun, and let the bullets fly!
The pedigree is scarey because if you extend it to 7 generations, the same dogs are there over and over again. Like begets like, but within reason!!!!!!

Awe, I like her, I think she is a cutie!

As i said, she is a cutie, but if she was going to be bred from, I think another country would be in order!

zacsmum, its funny you said that.... I have a Eick von der Berger Hochburg daughter and my friend jokes that if he ever breeds his dog he would like to use him as the stud- I don't think you can get lines any further apart then that.... IMO mixing lines like that is almost like mixing breeds.... kind of Dr. Frankinstein-ish but if it worked it would be freaking brilliant.
