I would not let her have too much of it personally.

I don't know if it could hurt her or not, I know I was told not to eat the rind of watermellon.

My wife told me that eating melon rinds has a similar effect as taking Viagra -- I'm trying not to read too much into that . So go ahead and eat them Moons, just wash first. Perhaps it means your dog is ready for breeding (haha).

My girl LOVES melon too!  we actually tell her she's a "fruity" dog because she loves FRUIT!  Apples are her favorite - to her, they are the best treat we could offer her!!   I have heard not to give dogs grapes or raisins though - not sure if this is true or not.  we do limit how much fruit we give her though, as we don't want her to get the runs.

My dogs will eat melon all the way to the skin and seem to like it very much. It is not on my list of prohibited vegetables/fruits/compounds and as far as I know it is fine. I think it is like anything else-just do not let them eat very much of it. Hmm, interesting idea about melon rinds being a type of (ahem!) aphrodisiac or booster. Most interesting.

Best Regards,

I've never had that particular problem CK,  Oh contrare....LOL

Anything I say will sound like BS so I'll just let that one alone....LOL

My guess is that for humans at least,  if you eat the green rind you may get a belly ache.

My dog's would eat thing's I could never digest.....

Moon's.

Watermelon Rind preserves are wonderful. As good as fig preserves. It is not a myth about the watermellon being like viagra. I read it in the new Medical report by Prevention magazine last summer.

grapes and raisins and appleseeds are dangerous in Large quantities. Also the leaves of the tomato and stems , as is the potato leaves and stems. found on the site listed below..
