Hello,

Wanted some input on this breeding, what I might expect from a pup of these bloodlines?

Linebreeding - 5 generations

You'd expect a puppy or puppies with four legs, a head and a tail. All else is up for grabs.

It might help if we knew who the sire and dam were!

For me personally I would want to know who the sire and dam are of this breeding before I make an opinion. I can tell you that I personally will try to stay away from Sven and Gotz, that is just my preference. That's all I can say without knowing who the sire and dam are.

Sorry, post did not complete, the dam  is:

the sire is:

Kelly,  why stay away from those two dogs, I understand everyone has an opinion and is entitled to it, and Sunsilver you are too funny

I am wanting to know as a litter was born on 11/17 and I was interested in getting a male, love th look of ddr and wanted to get back in obedience.

Not looking for anything but opinions

THANKS

Hmmm...I am not familiar with the dogs, but anyone else think this is a little too heavy on the linebreeding?

Some hip weakness in the sire's side, too, though I see the dam's side has really good hips to compensate for this. No linebreeding at all on her side...again, good choice to make up for the father's side.

My comment about the pups was only partly in jest. Breeding is a real crapshoot as far as what Mother Nature is going to have turn up in the whelping box. Unless you've been breeding for years, and know your lines backwards and forwards, it's very hard to predict.

If you are dead set on DDR, it looks like a nice breeding. Are you looking for a pet or a working dog?

Personally, I don't like not being able to find information about the sire and dam. Titles don't mean so much to me, but health clearances, the dogs actually working, etc. DO.

I've heard many mixed reviews about the individual who owns  the sire, so if it were me, I'd proceed with caution...

Just my .02.

Just do more research on Sven and Gotz and see what you will find. I've always liked the looks this male, but  don't really think his pups are worth $2,000 either. I do know the person that owns the dog(s) and this is how much they are advertised on www.k9stud.com  I do get along well with the owner, but feel that is too much for a puppy. JMPO  Good luck to you and your new pup!!!!

You can have problems from some of the linebreeding Sven has given long coats-elbow-hip and missing molars. Alf and Gotz also give same problems and testicles maybe included .. DDR_SDG

$2000 is a bit much for a pup IMO also.  Lots of nice breedings selling for around $1000-1200.  $1500 would be my max for a pup.

Kelly,

He is selling this litter for $1000, von hena-c is getting $1200 or more for their pups from these lines, and I would have to pay shipping to FL.

I was told long coats, which I prefer not, testicle problems and hip elbow are a problem too.

Thanks again, will do some more reseach, anyone else in this area?  there is a breeder of ddr lines in Fl that sells his for $1500 but I don't see what I am looking for in what he is breeding?  I may have to wait.

THANKS ALL

Rebecca
