I posted a thread about looking back on 2008 and saw people already thinking about what they would like to acheive in 2009 . So that got me thinking about what I want to get done next year.
Would love to hear what people have planned
For myself lets see
Hanibal I would like to finish up his Rally titles, RA, RE, and RAE, then get his CDX and while I am dreaming his UD title too (LOL)
with Ozzy I would like to get her CD (just paid the fees for the show in January) and finish out her Rally titles too (like Hanibal).
I know one thing that I am going to do is learn Agility!!!!! I have been wanting to learn but have not had the time but this year I plan on making the time.

Hmm. Simple. The dog is now 8 months old. At 15 months, meaning it'd be around June get a BH on him, then September or October, or even November, depending where the trials are, get a Sch1 on him. As our departing president Dubya would say - Mission Accomplished for that year, if that happens.
Bonus would be, if all goes according to the plan to do a SV (not OFA) hips and elbows X rays at one year of age (in March).
Second bonus would be, if Sch1 goes well, in say September or October, to quickly enter a Sch2 in November or December and see how it goes. If he does well - great, it's a bonus. If he bombs, oh well, the goals are achieved anywyas and we only went for the bonus.
Then, thinking ahead to 2010, Sch3 is in order. When and if that happens, then I'll THINK about entering a Regional Sch3 and see how that goes. I am not opposed on entering a Nationals, but that is too far ahead to even think or bother thinking about it. I can also try, or would like to try to squeeze a few WDA sanctioned Sch competitions in the meantime, just to say we did it together. One of the reasons, the trials in our region are not THAT plentiful, so choices are kidn of slim throughout the year, without travelling really far and that's somewhat of an issue.
Then, the dog will likely take a break from the Schutzhund sport and we'll start Personal Protection Training for good, with entering Schutzhund trials for "maintenance purposes" afterwards - meaning we get to have a fun weekend out of town and the dog gets to do his stuff, everybody wins.
And then... when I woke up, I fell out of my bed, landed on the hardwood floor and that shook me pretty good...

I plan to get rid of a substantial amount of weight! (again!) That will allow me to work my dogs comfortably again.
I'm going to see a Sch trial. Somebody said to me a while back,"how can you say you're not interested in protection / manwork if you've never tried it?" Fair comment... so, I at least need to have a proper look, having only seen a little at the Sieger.
I may get another dog in 2009, it will to show but I expect my dogs to work too, obedience or WT... maybe Sch.
I would like to have Bob v Patriot... if his owner's out there?

Here are my goals for 2009...
I would like to finish up the tilles on my showline male Aiko. He has his BH but I would like to go all the way to his SchH3. I am planning on getting his SchH1 in Feb. If that happens then I would like to get his KKL in June. Hopefully he will "V" rate and KKL1.
Then for my female Xena I would like to at least get her BH and SchH1. I am planning on getting her BH in Feb when I do the SchH1 on Aiko. I would like to go all the way to SchH3 with her as well. Not sure if I will do all that next year, but it would be nice. I will also do her breed survey too.
My boyfriend Phil would also like to title his dog, TJ. He will be ready for his BH in Feb and then hopefully his SchH1 a month or so after that. Phil is going to get TJ's SchH3 and KKL and then convert him over and use him as his K9, hopefully, at the Police Dept he works at. TJ has alredy started his training on his narcotics work. Phil would like to take TJ to the Nationals too.....as long as everything works out.

See " Looking back on 2008" Don't hold me to any of it, let alone ALL of it, but I'm expecting to achieve more next year than I did this, if only because so much time this year was spent doing foundation training on young dogs... for next year. I I fall on the ice this winter and break a hip or something all bets are off. :-O
Oh yeah... Two-three very well-bred litters of working line puppies planned for '09, one due in January (from Gabi) one in March (Ali x "Ice") one ? (Portia x Carol/T) . I didn't breed any litters this year, only one litter in '07.

Finish up the x-rays on my dog, get his PSA1 maybe as early as Feb, then maybe a 2 by years end 09. Spring will bring a new puppy and I'll get her started out at traning to build her bites and check her drives. I'll HOPEFULLY be starting a second job to help pay for all of this and the rest of my at home bills. 2009 will be a bussy year for me.

Well. let's see...first looking back on '08 my mother-in-law, who also happened to be one of my best friends, had a stroke in May, suffered for almost 6 months and died on my granddaughter's birthday last month. My husband and I did not speak to each other for almost 5 months and are now in the process of splitting. One wonderful event was the birth of my second granddaughter in September. I did some training early in the spring but with everything going south at home had to stop to get my life back in order so no major accomplishments with training. Hubby will be taking his 2 terriers with him as well as our year old GSD. So '08 stacked up as one of the most stressful I've had. That's why I haven't been posting here too much, life kind of sucked.
Looking ahead to next year brightens me up quite a bit though, things have finally started going my way! Hubby and I have come to an agreement and I couldn't be happier. He is moving out next week, leaving me with my best boy, Drake. I am getting enough cash out of the deal to purchase my house for 25K. I will have over 100K equity in the house and a very small mortgage payment. My job is stable, 10 minutes from home, I dress casual and have wonderful benefits with no out-of-pocket expense. I will have enough money left to fence another portion of my yard so Drake will have almost a full acre to romp. I can replace the furniture he's taking, make all the changes I want to the house and pay off my only credit card! I can start training again and hopefully by the end of next summer we will be looking at possibly our first title! We are being very agreeable with dog-sitting for each other so I will still see my other dogs but life will be SO simple only caring for one on a daily basis. Just think how clean my house will be with no man and only 1 dog, not to mention the peace and quiet. So I am really looking forward to '09, bring it on!!
