The pups are expected to mature average about 24.5" / 68 pounds for females and 26.5"/ 90 pounds for males.
What would be very good birth weights for these pups?

In my limited experience (3 litters-total 25 puppies), the weights were between 1 to 1lb 8 0z. Keep in mind I feed raw which usually means leaner but lively, strong puppies.

Do you have Fred Lanting's book The Total German Shepherd? I recall that he has a puppy weight chart in that book.

our last litter contained 9 pups 8 were one and a half lbs and one was one and a quarter lbs within 4 days all were the same weight 1lb 12oz

1 to 1 3/4oz, depends on size of the litter, fewer pups mean bigger pups. Large litters are smaller pups
