A friend of mine recently adopted a sable german shepherd from the local shelter.
He has a "Z" tattooed on the inside of his thigh.
Where can i learn more about it and does anyone know where the dog came from based on that.

The dog just has a "Z""? Is is it one letter with some #'s? If it is one letter, I would say it must individual ID for the breeders purpose. I doubt you will find any info other then that.

Some vets do this to dogs that have been fixed. My mom had her shepherd spayed at the vets office and they tattooed her inside thigh with a z .. this my mean steralized. I never asked why they did it i just guessed that is why.
