Hello,

today my puppys got for the first time solid food. They are 3 weeks now. Since my last litter was fed kibble, munched, they had to be led to the food, their noses had to be ditched into the food so they would realize that there is food to begin with.

Not this time, it was absolut amazing, I put that bowl of raw down, and man, they were over it in no time ! I never expected this in this way, but it sure was a pleasure to watch. It amazes me more  & more by the day that I did not change to raw earlier.

There will be more pics on my HP during the day.

Regards Ulli

Yes they do love their raw food!

Another thread was talking about attitude in a couple week old pup-well put down the raw food and you'll see lots of "attitude"

No question they are meat eaters-and nobody's late to the food bowl!

Here's a pic I sent buyers from my last litter of 10 lined up to eat their raw meat.

Welcome Ulli to the world of raw feeding!! Throw your pups some chicken or duck wings (1 less than the number of pups) and see them show you their stuff!! I start mine off about 3 - 4 weeks with chicken wings and can just watch them forever..plus they make the cutest noises when they are gnawing!!

I fed raw too, Champayne blue race diet, which is basically a raw meat dog food with suppliments.  When I have a large and therefore very hungry litter, they will often start on it at 2 weeks and five days.  I make it soupy with puppy formula the first several feedings.  By three weeks, they are eatting it without puppy formula.  Veronica

My first litter started solid food as raw and they went nuts. Nothing cuter than a tiny pup going wolf on a chicken wing. At first they didn't do the bones, mom ate those left behind but by 5 weeks they ate all. Much easier than trying to mash up food and make them eat and a lot less messy. I skipped the pans and just threw it on the grass as they tuged it all over the yard.

Hello,

thanks all for your comments, and yes, they go haywire when I come into the kennel with their plate, they litterly are all over it !

BTW, I have put a bunch of pics into the Fotoalbum of my HP. Since I cannot get it done to post them here, you would have to visit my HP. We did a lot of work the last couple of weeks, and have now done the fence around our property. Next weekend we will put the grass seeds in, and hopefully by next spring everything will be a little greener !

All the best to you. Ulli
