hi all,

as everyone knows i own Kira,

aka   palma z jirkova dvora.

there is a male that i think is gorgeous,

Eron vom haus kind

but if i did the breeding (if the owner agrees)

it would be 2-3 on Baro v Kretzschauer land.

is that too close???

i did the mating check and there is A LOT of linebreeding

3-4 on

quelle v haus bohm & zorro vd wildsau

the rest are 4-5

Such breeding should be handled by people very knowledgeable about the particular bloodlines being line-bred so closely upon, and handled by experienced GSD breeders familiar with the typical results of strong line-breeding of particularly powerful lines - fully understanding the pros/cons to such breeding and making sure such-bred pups are sold/placed in working homes to keep those minds busy. It should not be done merely because someone owns a nice female and likes a nice male. Not that close. JMO.

I had  Baro daughter, be very sure of what you want if you are going to do a 2,3 on him.  this was a super tough, extremely dominate, handler hard little bitch.  at 4 months old, she received a correction and she decided to go right for my face.  not like a puppy, but a very serious angry dog.  I  asked other breeders and trainers who had more experience with dogs such as this and I followed their directions, but every correction just sent her into more of a rage.  I was finally told to choke her out, which I refused to do since we were talking about a 4 month old pup, so I returned her to the breeder.  this was not something I wanted to promote and breed.  Her dam was a SCH3 part showline through Mark v h Beck, and part working line.

Just curious--are you sure this handler aggression was due to Baro for sure, or some other combinations in the pedigree?  Did Baro produce other offspring like that?  I had a Crok bred pup a little like that too, this was a pup we kept from the litter.  I sold her at about four months to someone who loved that attitude.  Crok puts attitude into some of his offspring and grandoffspring :-)  Now people are going to jump up and say that's not so, but --- yes, he did.

I did briefly look at the mated pedigree of the two dogs.  Looks like there is some outcross lines in it as well as the close linebreeding.

Looking at the male's pedigree-- he has no offspring listed.  Why is he still a SchH2?  Is he very young?  He has no date of birth listed.  If not, have you seen any of his offspring?  I guess you feel his qualities really compliment Kira?
