My bitch is moving her 6 day old puppies in and out of the whelping box(sometimes I put them back in to make sure they are warm)It looks like she is trying to give them individual attention and feedings. anyone experience this?

thanks

Yes, with one of my female's first litters she would take one particular puppy out of the whelping box.  At first I thought she might be trying to separate this pup to let him die, sensing something wrong with him.  After a few days of discretely observing her, I found she was taking him out and lying down and feeding him.  Not harming him or leaving him unattended.  Her whelping box is in a large kennel with horse mats on the floor for insulation so I knew she could not take him anywhere and hide him so I did not worry about this.  It just seemed she wanted to make sure he got a little extra time at the milk bar.  She since had another litter and did not do this.

The only time I ever observed a bitch moving her pup's was when she did not like the spot they were in.
