We all know that a good hip score in the GSD is paramount for breeding and showing. The condition in the third world countries is sometimes apalling with the dogs being imported, usually very cheap, and the hip score is understandably very high. The breeders in these countries wish to know the proper methods to X-Ray or Scan the hips, the proper placement of the hip/elbow during the procedure, etc so that their breeding stock are at least free from HD/ED. The SV has rigidly enforced certain norms making HD/ED survey compulsory for all the dogs that are to be shown or bred, All of the GSD Clubs in these TW countries are affiliated to the SV and the SV has a solid grip on them then why is it that these norms including breed survey and compulsory registration of all breeding/Showing stock with the SV is not followed. I also wish to make a point that even after having full knowledge that such ED/HD are being exhibited at their shows the SV judges place them at high positions and even give them a VA. Is the lustre of money greater than ethics. I remember a case when a hip displastic dog was brought by the judge for an influential person. The dog achieved a SG2 even when the hind legs were going all places and there was no combination between the two. I request senior German breeders and the likes of Mr Fred Lanting,Mr David Payne to discuss this matter and show us the light Abhi
