I don't think you can go wrong with a nice filet, seafood, and side of garlic-mashed. Put a nice bottle of merlot on the table and you may be in business.
Canidae sucks and it got worse when they changed their formula a few months ago.

I am not a fan of Canidae at all....since they changed their formula alot of dogs have done very poorly on it. I would get the off of it ASAP. As for good foods there are several....Solid Gold...Natural Balance...Royal Canin GSD....AvoDerm. Even the Kirkland (Costco) brand of dog food has very good ingredience. I feed my dogs the Chicken and rice formula. They have great coats and very good energy levels. I dont have to use alot of supplements with this food either. I give my dogs 2 fish oil tabs and 1/2 teaspoon of SOURCE (kelp supplement).

I like RC and VetsChoice
Not everything works for every dog. A lot of people had good success with ORIJEN

IMO - Solid Gold Wolf King or Royal Canin GSD 24. Solid Gold makes mine a lot gassier but both give plenty of energy, good skin, coat color and texture, and muscle mass. Mine lost the skin crusties and ear infections on both. May look expensive but cheapier than the vet when you weigh it out.

I am not happy at all with the food today.
I am feeding Evo. Wellness, Canidae, Merrick, Pro Plan, Royal Canin, Solid Gold etc and have loose stools. It is so disheartening to feed "Benerful" and have them immediately tighten up -- even my vet feeds it! About ready to give up...

I'm having good luck with Royal Canin GSD for most of the dogs, Canidae Platinum for my senior. I do rotate foods every 4-6 mos. and supplement with K9 Power products. I don't think there's any "complete nutrition" formaula anywhere.

ihave been feeding taste of the wild for a month or so. i have to drive 45 min. one way to get it, but i am just thankful that i have finally found it and that it seems to be working. some of my dogs get the fish formula and some get the duck. i found the buffalo to be too rich for them. so far so good. we've tried darn near everything. most of them work for a while, but then the dogs lose condition and i am searching again. i'm pretty impressed with coats and stools so far. as long as it works, we will stick with it.
