Hello everyone, I joined this website, so I can post - i dont have a german shepherd but i have 2 rottweilers. My dog was at this kennel for training, actually my mom and stepfather are in Ohio (we are from NY) right now. The animal shelter where the dogs are, was closed all weekend. The police basically told us to call back on Monday. We have spoken to dozens of people who trained with and boarded their dogs with him. and he HAD the money... I am devastated and appalled and he will probably get away with this.
Just found out that he is dead and half his size.

The horror is unbelievable. Someone needs to get it on the national news, or the bastard will get away with it.

This makes me ill, so very sorry for you. There is no protection in this country for the law abidding and innocent. I am begining to think the judges in this country must be a sick as the criminals, why else would they let them off? I do not give a fig that the jails are full, build more of them. Commit a violent crime, lets not worry about a jail cell, or 20 years to house them.

First, I'm sorry that terrible thing happened to your dog. I know it doesn't help much but believe that he is at the Rainbow Bridge where he has plenty of food and water and places to run and play. He will be waiting for you someday, whole and healthy and happy to see you.
As far as the scumbag who killed those poor dogs, I suppose his "rights" were violated by the first responders who were horrified at what they found. There is only the law and the law doesn't make for justice all too often. Justice would have Steve Croley chained and starved. Who knows what the law will do, if anything. I hope he gets his just desserts somehow.
If this guy breeds dogs or shows or trials dogs in any AKC venue, it should be reported to the AKC. All they can do is ban him, but they can do that.

I contacted the AKC, no reply.
Maybe we all need to send them emails. I know he did shows. even with Schutzhound
