I really like this board.
Kudos to Oli & the Many devoted GDS owners & dog lovers.
My Primary suggestions would be: Categories for
1. A Hall of Shame-for idiot trainers, scam artists, cons & the like, for all to view for unknowing to research (& Rebuttals)
2. A Hall of FAME-those that do Great work & are honest in their dealings, should also be noted
Ideas?
Good or bad?

In theory a good idea, in practice would be problematic.
those who are less than honest may post under aliases to make a bad trainer look good or visa versa.. Not saying there are not some good people here. Just no real way to regulate.the dishonest (on the board) or the uninformed. who will often chime in with only tertiary knowledge of a problem.. Or others that may post repeatedly without stating anything new but the sheer volume of posts can drown out the knowlegable single posting.
Historically there have been a lot of unnesassary drama associated with posts about particular trainers.
Often your best bet is to just ask for people to PM with their experiences with a partcicular individual. But just remember each individual board will have their own group of people that might prefer certain individuals that are aquantances (just human nature)
Also at times people who may have been given an honest opinion that they may disagree with may bash an individual even if the basher is in the wrong . often the basher won't tell the whole story..
Just my opinion..

The biggest way that we as dog owners can promote good practicies by all involved is to be proactive. Be a role model yourself. Start by being a good sport, volunteer, does'nt have to be alot but get involved. Be an ambassidor for responsibility. Whether its schutzhund, psa whatever. Dog sport is a small community there are too few of us
I also think there are a few things that in my mind are red flags. Maybe the best way for us to teach the less involved are by listing red flags for people.
A nice website may be a sign the person knows about setting up a website not training dogs - There are those who have nice websites that are excellent trainers, however websites are pretty easy to set up so a website alone should not be a basis for selecting a trainer or whatever.
Does the person have easily verifyable accomplisments, also look out for wording... the dishonest may lie using only truths..Omitting a part of any story can completley change its meaning. Do they have references, What happens when you look for references outside of the ones that they provide? Why not start by checking out clubs in your area and getting some opinions there and then branch out. This will take a little more legwork.
These apply to potential buyers as well as trainers. If what they are telling you just does not add up or if that little voice inside you tells you something is wrong walk away.
Do they seem a little too freindly at first?
Is there too much info being shared at first? At time those who will try to con a person will tray to act freindly and share some info to put a person at ease but will lie to you and suck you in.
Does anyone else have any thoughts?
