I am not the first to look at a beautiful workingline dog, and the first thing that goes through my mind is what's in that pedigree. Then, I find out it is a mix of 2+ lines, which I have NO problem with, I just have a question, that maybe some of you purists could answer for me???
I guess my question is this; for all of you purist's out there:
Is it possible to get ONE PURE line that has the qualities of several lines put together?
Here's an example:
What the DDR dogs bring: BIG heads, Thick Bone, DEEP Pigment, Substantial size, excellent handler/k9 bond, high drive
What the Czech Dogs Bring: LOTS of energy, Agility, Sharpness, Independence.
So, my question is this: can we get a dog that HAS Balanced energy, Excellent drive, exceptional pigment, a decent sized head, thick bone, and an intense handler-k9 bond, agility, WITHOUT having to combine lines? This was targeted at the DDR and Czech lines (which I know better than the others) but can really be applied to all lines.
Anyone care to show/list examples?
**Please be nice, just asking a question to gain knowledge here!!! Feel free to PM if you wish to keep it confidential**

Totally possible. The idea of a Czech purist is a silly notion, even the best of Czech breeders outcross with West workingline or others, as in this example...

So if a Czech breeder uses a westline dog, and the puppies are born in the Czech Republic (or Slovak Republic), would you agree that they are "pure" Czech?
And there are plenty of "pure" DDR lines that aren't so blocky in features at all, that you have to wonder what the point is.

"that you have to wonder what the point is." Ditto!

Thanks Daryle, Good point, I was just curious, as I have no problems with mixes myself, as I've owned a very good mix, I was just wondering if there was such a dog with strictly one bloodline that has features of all lines.
Thanks again Daryle!
