i have seen pictures of gsd s with half the tail missing are they cutting them off for some reason or are they born like that? i do know of one pup that was born with no tail at all .the breeder says it was cramped in the woumb and there was no room for the tail to grow ? this sounds strange to me . any info on these half tail dogs as to what abnd why?

Sometimes the mother bites off a bit, mistaking it with the umbilical cord when cleaning the puppy after birth....

I know a Dutchie that chewed his 1/2 off. If he wasn't worked enough he would chew his tail.

i have seen dogs on the tv with half there tails gone its been on working police dogs on shows with cops and there dogs i was wondering if they may have lost them from accidents while training if it is true they chewed there own tails off ooowwy that a determend dog if the mother chewed them off oowwy but if there born that way whats up with that? i guess i thought they were docked for some reason or other any ways im still stumped lol
