Not a GSD, but my Bonnie, my very first dog, now 14, could use your prayers.

She may be a pound mutt but she's my baby. I had to take her to the vet this morning. Not eating, drinking a lot, and weak. The vet said her gums look anemic so they ran all sorts of blood tests. They all came back normal. The vet said they don't know what's wrong, but they know something is wrong. They sent the same tests out to a lab. All her blood work is normal. I don't know what it could be, but I'm hoping and praying she'll be ok. If they can't find anything they are going to put her on a broad spectrum antibiotic. She's been a really healthy dog besides allergies. This just kind of popped up out of nowhere.

Thank you

Melissa

I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I will say a prayer for you and her.  I hope the vet finds out what's wrong and can do something about it.

You and Bonnie are in our thoughts and prayers

Bonnie needs X-rays and an ultrasound as well as prayers--she may have a cancerous growth inside. I hope she makes it.

Feed her some raw meat. This will activate some immune responses . If it is intestinal you will see dark blood in stool . The raw meat in the stomach will make the body produce enzymes, acids, and immune boosters. If it is viral you will see an immediate change in the way she is acting. I will then put her on the broad spectrum of antibiotics. Email me at diangelo.jackson@us.army.mil Your dog sounds like she has what mine did a few years ago.

Check her for small ticks....comb the hair all over especially underneath the body

What kind of dog food are you feeding her?

Is she eating her poop?

What is color of Poop? Is it hard, soft, runny....?

Is she eating dirt, grass, ...?

Feel her stomach...is it hard? Does she wimper when you push in hard on her stomach?

What color is her gums....give her some pedialite (excuse my spelling)

Melba

It may be Kidney Faliure, The symptoms sound much like it in an old Dog,

She is now telling you she needs to sleep and rest after a good life, hard as it is to let them go . she know it is her time,

Not nice words to say to anyone as i have gone through it with very old Dogs three times and it still hurts,

Give her a big hug for all of us on this Forum

So sorry to write in way but you will always remember the good times and she will always be with you in your thoughts

I second what another poster said, a flat plate of the abdomen, & get a stool sample checked, as well. The worst thing of all is to watch your baby suffer & not know what's wrong. Prayers to you as well as your friend. jackie harris
