I just found my three month old puppy eating a chocolate birthday cake. He seems to have ate quite a lot as is belly is very full!!
What should I do?! I tried calling my vet but he doesn't answer!!!
Please help.

If your pup didn't eat much, it will be just fine. Here's toxic levels: http://www.talktothevet.com/ARTICLES/DOGS/chocolatetoxic.HTM

Good grief. Your local phone director or INTERNET SEARCH would show an emergency vet who was available, I'm sure.
Not all dogs react badly to theobromine. Over 40+ years of owning dogs, before the chocolate panic set in, I had quite a few clever dogs who got into the kids' Easter baskets or Halloween candy. Had quite a chocolate feast, too, and never blinked an eye. I have a cousin who's boyfriend once gave her a 5 lb. solid choclate Eastern bunny, which she left overnight on top of her refrigerator, supposedly out of reach of her dog. Well, if you have a Borzoi, reaching the top of a tall fridge is not an obstacle. Dog ate the entire 5 pounds of chocolate. Result? One happy dog.
Not saying not to be careful, but people do tend to panic at every opportunity. I'm sure many dogs do react badly to chocolate, but I haven't PERSONALLY heard of one yet.

Ok thanks.

Um...no there isn't. I am not in America and there are no 24/7 emergency vets here.
But anyway, I have managed to reach my vet so thanks for the advice.

Years ago, I was stalked by a neighbor who was smitten from afar. Every Sunday for years he would deposit a 2-tier box of Russell Stover's chocolates at my front door. No matter what I said to discourage him, I still got the chocolate. Someone had to eat them......yeah......the dogs and I feasted nightly. Never a problem. Every time someone brings up this subject, I slink in my chair and remember ALL that chocolate. (LOL) Today..........no chocolate.
Henry---Most likely he will be OK, but wise to ask. Good luck.
