I agree totally with Alyson that numbers are not the thing at the moment. It would be great to have a full complement, but as others above have rightly pointed out, its going to be a difficult one on timing for people, but if we have people attend, and people get success, even one or two - then it starts the ball rolling to other areas as well as this one, to make things easier for the GSD enthusiast in the UK. Thanks everyone for your comments again..... Mo

I think you make a good point not many would be ready even this year, with all the health checks done anyone wishing to make AD BH and SCH1 from today, unless they are very experienced doing it themselves would take at least a year and that assuming the trials are staged at the right time! its not an easy task, on the continent it is mandatory so the preperation begins in the training from a very early age, in the UK generally breed dogs are not trained so at 2 years of age if you want to start it is a massive project to make the BH and SCH1, with a dog that has not been suitably prepared, its hard enough with the working dogs, so the hurdle becomes higher with the less drivey breed types, i am not having a pop just saying it as it is, beleive me i see it week in and week out at the sch clubs i visit

Yes that is correct and they have told you how hard it is to acheive, and they do it because they wish to show on the continent the point i am making is that if it is not mandatory most and i mean 90 percent will not do it, incl myself i have home trained sch111 dogs all of which could do the work but they are only hip tested under the UK scheme not elbows, DNA or AD and until it is clarified if the WUSV judges qualifications count i am not sure if some of my working qualifications would count,
I would suggest whoever wants to take this forward they approach the correct authorities and take advice, and in order to ask the correct questions they should contact Alyson as i seem to remember she gave a few seminars on the subject

If you are a WUSV approved judge you area WUSV approved judge are you not? Surely there is no discrimination between countries.
There are 2 WUSV approved judges in the UK and if their judging is meaningless outside the UK then surely they are not WUSV approved?

Langhaar
i heard that all the GSDL WDG judges were WUSV approved (and there aer 3 of them on the website) not sure about the BAGSD VPG judges
