I think the Karo syrup is to keep the pups sugar levels up when supplementing feedings.

I had to find out what all you folks were doing with Karo syrup that could possibly require so many posts! ....LOL. To me, Karo syrup on a dog board = puppy formula.

The original poster asked "what is Karo syrup." The posts are explaining what it is, where to find it, what it is used for, other uses, and as happens sometimes, involved a bit of nostalgia about something many of us had not even thought of for years.

sweet potatoe pie, the absolute best.    And I grew up and still live in the Pacific Northwest area.  I remember always seeing karo syrup, yup on pancakes growing up too.

I have used goat milk for years . When I wean my pups , I use goats milk to mix for the first meal , with Malt O  Meal , as it contains Folic acid.. FROM  runny Malt o meal to puppy food soaked in goats milk  warmed in a pan, not the microwave,

Do not use a MICROWAVE TO WARM PUPPY FOOD OR MILK....IT DESTROYS ALL NUTRIENTS IN MILK.

GOAT MILK in the stores is very expensive, so I have a goat farmer about 5 miles away from me and I check with him  first. Fresh is the best..  I also buy yard eggs from him.
