I used Super Fuel for a while and really didnt notice to much of a difference when I added it to their food. I also used Show Stopper ( i know it isnt a performance supplement). My dogs coats did look nice when I was using these supplements. The main reason I stopped using Show Stopper is because it has Dimethylprimidinol Sulfate( source of Vitamin K activity) in it. This chemical is know to cause liver damage. I just dont feel comforatable feeding these supplements to my dogs.

I am going to go back to Vertex again. I use to use it a long time ago on my first German Shepherd that I had. He did great on it. The only reason I went to Super Fuel was that it was alot cheaper than Vertex.

Since I havent used Vertex in a while....what is the best place to get it at a fairly reasonable price?

The Dimethylprimidinol Sulfate was removed as of July 1 and the labels will reflect this as of August 1.  This was also in discussion months prior to the removal.

The amount per scoop was measured in micro grams and you would have had to feed 158 lbs per day to even reach the RDA.

I know that it is out of both the SuperFuel and the ShowStopper...I talked to the company about a week ago. I still would like to go back to the Vertex.

What is the best place to get the Vertex from?

Just wanted to clarify the statement about it being in the product and to make a blanket statement with no amounts is just posting invalid information.

Thanks you for the link...I will look on there. I hope my dogs do as good on the Vertex as my one male did when I used it years ago. The ingedience in it looked safe too.

I started using K9 Super Fuel awhile ago and noticed the biggest difference in my 11 year old retired SchH3 girl.  She had slowed down a litte bit but was still getting around good for her age... but after putting her on Super Fuel she is like a 4 year old again, much quicker to get up and move around, seems to not be sore after a going to the SchH club for a little training.  Right now I am trying Joint Strong with her instead of the Super Fuel and honestly dont see a difference between the two but when the Super Fuel ran out previously and I didnt have her on anything I did notice her slow down a bit more without it.  She will stay on it now :)

I have been using GoDog for some of the hot training days here.... It is hard for me to say if it makes that big of a difference, but my dogs dont mind it and I figure it cant hurt.

Great feedback Valerie.  The K9 Super Fuel has a very modest amount of human grade joint factors so you actually get a double benefit.

You may not see outward differences with GoDog as with the Super Fuel but you will see quicker recovery and the hydration benefits in hot weather is critical.  Most dogs will not drink following activity.  We see this especially in the smaller agility dogs.   GoDog will stimulate drinking and you will see a much quicker return to normal breathing and a resting state following activity.

SuperFuel is our choice along with the other products by Animal Naturals depending on our dogs age and needs. Not every dog is going to respond to the same product the same way. Their metabolism, age, breed and genetics plays a big role in how a dog assimilates nutrients from food and supplements so not every dog will benefit or respond to a product in the same manner. Also. the results may not as visually dramatic in dogs that are in good condition to start. The manufacturer caters to it's customers needs and when they found there was a concern with the Dimethylprimidinol Sulfate they removed it quickly. I can't say the same thing for many manufacturers these days where good customer service seems to be a thing of the past.

A number of years ago when the SuperFuel was first introduced I had a performance dog who was declining in performance, muscle tone and endurance and I was ready to retire her. After talking with Bob I ordered some SF and after two weeks there was a noticeable improvement in her performance, energy level, muscle tone and endurance. She eventually went on to take a HIT in agility, finish two agility championships and two national year end awards all at age 9 +. We'll stick with the Animal Naturals products.

I know of 2 young men who went to a mountain cabin in order to do altitude training for 3 weeks. Once there, they realized that they had forgotten all their supps back home. The only supps at said cabin was a case of "Vertex" for the dogs. To make a long story short, these 2 characters used the Vertex on themselves, just like Whey Protein.  After the 3 weeks were over, both were very pleased with the results.

Now I'm not advising making yourself a big glass of "Vertex", but if its good enough to work on humans, then I will certainly continue using it for my canines.  I was worried that a side effect might be it turned one green, but I was assured the green color came from something else.
