I have no issues giving a dog or pup away to the proper people that would appreciate it. But for some stranger to email you and say I'll take the dog if its free.. Well you know what type of response they got.. I can be a bitch a time or two but for just cause.

To someone you know certainly, I can understand and HAVE given people a free or significantly discounted puppy, especially if they are going to work it.  But a total stranger on the phone who wants to do nothing with the dog but let it roam their 20 acres and play with their kids, no way, no discount. Not on this top working prospect I am totally happy to hold onto until a home where the dog will be worked AND loved is found.  If one isn't found, and believe me, I have turned down several, then I will donate him to the police when he is old enough.

I GRIMACE AT THE PHONE CALL THAT THE FIRST  WORDS OUT OF THE PHONE ARE:

Or the excuse well my husband is laid off right now and we can't afford much. Okay and what is I can't afford much? Well $100.00 The response is if you can't afford to purchase the dog then how would I know if you can afford its up keep?  Oh but I can give it a comfortable home and real love! Sorry but in my eyes that ain't enough. I pay large for the dogs I own they are on the highest quality dog food have all and what they need as far as training excersize and vet care.. Anyone that just needs a dog to make them look or feel good must be shot in the azz. MPO

Yeah, or your ad says, AKC, full health ,hip, temperment guarantee, shots, wormed, etc., etc., and the first question is,

"Are you charging anything for the pups", I'd like to say, No, I do all this and have reat dogs to give you one for free... But I don't( not yet anyway)

Hee hee, that was good. I'll never forget a guy knocking at my door years ago. He says I see you have German Shepherds do you have any for sale. I looked at him and asked him what he was looking for? He said a pup to breed that he just picked up a male pup and wanted to raise them together. I told him well I do have dogs for sale but what are you willing to spend? He said $100.00 Jokingly I said ad anouther 15 of those $100's and we'll start talking! Buddy was in shock and walked away. GOOD cause I ain't got nothing here for ya anyhoo!

Sorry, for making you faint! LOL but personally I'm tired of people that want the dogs for free.. I will give good people a break but the free or cheap stuff has to go..

I had a guy, knowing full well what my asking price was, come out waste my afternoon looking at my pups, in which I patiently answered all of his questions, then tell me he was only looking to spend $300.  Out of 2 V rated parents. That doesn't even cover my cost per puppy.

I hate when that happens -
