Possible that some is done overseas?

by reason on 13 January 2009 - 10:01

Yes

But if they have they will have gone for the Kor as well waht is the ppoint in sneding them for part and then bring them back to send again that is not how it works in my experience, besides the trainers over there have the system in place were they take the dog and it is returne suitably stamped etc

I also applaud the BAGSD for getting the ball rolling. We must get koerungs in place in the UK. I have to agree with Reason, which is partly why I outlined the criteria for koerung. There may be some dogs needing to do their lebenseit this year and they could certainly be ready for April but I too doubt there would be many that can fulfill all the criteria, especially when the hip and elbows have to go through the SV. However, by putting the details on this forum everyone is now clear of the criteria and if there are dogs ready for April/May then they will contact Mo, if not then it would be great to arrange for later in the year, this way several AD events can also be arranged.

Well done to BAGSD and Mo, lets get systems in place.

Ah!

Well, we'll just have to hope then, that this offers sufficient inspiration... for next time!

Question please.  If we can "do it all" eventually... looks like we're trying.  Would it not be reasonable for someone to approach the SV re x-rays / hip scores?  It seems absolutely ludicrous that the SV system is the only acceptable one to them.  Surely this is long overdue?

To arrange the AD and BH events the working branch clubs of both the BAGSD VPG  and GSDL WDG need to be involved and the y must appoint SV/WUSV working judges

Its all possible but not easy

Looks as though there's ample interest... I'd certainly be willing to invest time if there's something I can do?  Don't mind if it's admin' or making the tea on the day!

Reason, on your list you have missed schh1, dogs must have a minimum schh1 for koerung.

Koerung is very important, it should be noted that if you fail the koerung you have to wait to the following year to retake, if you fail again that is it, no more chances. When I say fail I am talking bitework, this is the usual reason for a failure, it is unlikely other failures can normally be rectified.

Hi Mo

I dont mean to hijack your thread or come across as a know it all but maybe an idea for a plan of action.

Koerung to be arranged prior to closing date for next British Sieger............Say August 2009.

Designate a minimum of 3 shows this year with SV judges, order yellow SV grading cards from SV and issue to all exhibits with grading cards signed by the judge at the end of the show. (To enable the requirement for minimum grade).

BAGSD and GSDL to arrange say 3 schutzhund trials with SV judges ( To enable the BH/Schh1 criteria to be fulfilled)

BAGSD and GSDL to arrange say 3 AD events with SV judge. (To enable the AD requirement).

Liaise with the GSDL( SV hip scheme) and SV to get a cut off date for allowing for the process of the hip, elbow and DNA  to be read and returned to UK prior to the closing date for the koerung.

This plan should be ongoing in order that maybe 2 koerungs can br arranged for 2010.

Just some suggestions to get you started.

Carol
